Rajiv gandhi grameen vidyutikaran yojana

·        A new scheme for creating rural electricity infrastructure and completing household electrification named as “Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana – Scheme of Rural Electricity Infrastructure and Household Electrification” was launched by Hon’ble Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh  in 2005.

·        The scheme has been launched to fulfill the commitment of the National Common Minimum Programme (NCMP) of completing the household

• The Isthmus of Kra connecting Malay Peninsula with the mainland of Asia.
• The Sinai Peninsula forms the Isthmus of Suez between the Mediterranean Sea and Red Sea and also forms the Asian border area towards Africa.
• The central area of Kushimoto town in the Wakayama prefecture of Japan is located on a narrow isthmus, surrounded on both sides by the Pacific Ocean.
• Metro Manila in the Philippines is situated on an isthmus.
